Review: We-Vibe Tango Pleasure Mate Set 3

The We-Vibe Tango is a sex blogger staple, consistently rated one of the best toys on the market. When I worked for a sex toy party company, I purchased the entire Pleasure Mate gift set (at a discount). I got it to get the We-Vibe Tango in white, to be honest. The Tango on its own only comes in blue and pink. The white version just appeals to me more, and I wanted to show the whole set to my sex toy party customers as an option for a clit toy, G-spot toy, and vibrating butt plug all in one set for about $150.

Basic Stats

The We-Vibe Tango Pleasure Mate Set includes the white Tango with charger, a pink Glow for G-Spot stimulation, and a slate gray Dusk butt plug attachment.

The We-Vibe Tango itself is a rechargeable, waterproof lipstick mini vibe, with an angled tip. It’s made of body safe, BPA-free ABS plastic. It measures 0.7″ in diameter, which is pretty standard for mini vibes, and means you can replace buzzy battery-operated mini vibes in other toys with it. It fits well in most Tantus dildos that have a hole for a mini vibe. If you use it this way, make sure you use lube or you’ll have a heck of a time getting it out. The Tango is 3.5″ long, making it longer than a lot of mini vibes. While it acts as more of a handle for removal from a dildo-turned-vibrator, it’s harder to use said dildo-turned-vibrator in a harness. It can painfully press on your pubic bone. There’s a single button on the base to operate its four vibration intensities and four patterns. It remembers the last setting you used. Its magnetic charging base and USB charger are included. When it’s low on battery life, the charging light blinks.

The Glow is a G-spot attachment that the Tango slides into. It measures 5″ long by 1″ in diameter, with a curved, flattened head. It only comes in pink. It’s made from body safe silicone with a silky finish.

The Dusk is a plug attachment. It’s not anal safe without the Tango inserted into the base. It’s 3″ long and 1″ in diameter. The Dusk is only available in slate gray. It’s “thumb-shaped” with a narrow neck, and made of body safe silicone with a silky finish.

As silicone toys, it should go without saying the attachments are only compatible with water-based or botanical (coconut) oil lube.

Our Experience

The Tango

The We-Vibe Tango is an excellent clitoral vibe. Full stop. The vibrations are deep, rumbly, and penetrating. The ABS housing means there’s no vibration dampening, as can happen with silicone toys. It provides pinpoint stimulation right where I need it. The four intensities of vibration are indeed intense. I have orgasmed on level 2. It’s long enough that reach is a minimal issue for me, and I can put direct pressure where I need it. I wouldn’t use this as an internal toy, as retrieval would be difficult.

The magnetic charging base isn’t super strong, though. I find setting it on a flat surface with the cord lying just right gives me the least issues. I can use it about 2 or 3 times before it needs a charge, and I really appreciate that it lets me know when battery life is low. I’ve only chanced using it while blinking once. Only once. It died mid-use.

It’s easily cleaned with soap & water, or sanitized with rubbing alcohol or 10% bleach solution.

The We-Vibe Tango on its own is about $80, but it’s well worth it. If you only own one vibe, this one’s a strong contender. As much as I love the Tango, I could really take or leave the attachments in this set. I really wish We-Vibe would release the white version on its own, and offer other colors in general.

The Glow

The We-Vibe Glow attachment for the Tango is…not that great for me. First of all, it’s too short for me. Reaching is a challenge, requiring me to get into positions that make it hard to focus on pleasure. The head skims my G-spot, but doesn’t “lock” onto it like it should. I can’t get the pressure I need. The vibrations are somewhat dampened, vibrating more at the entrance to my vagina, which isn’t unpleasant. The base widens significantly, giving a feeling of fullness, but I find it rather annoying. It just doesn’t do it for my body, but that’s not to say it’s a bad toy. I honestly wish I liked it more. As a clitoral vibe, it’s not pinpoint enough for me.

Here’s the kicker: on its own, the Glow retails for about $60 bucks. Unless you have a G-spot that’s compatible with this type of head, I’m not sure it’s worth the price. Mine sits in its box, along with the Dusk.

The Dusk

I’ll reiterate: the We-Vibe Dusk does not work as a butt plug without the Tango inserted. That’s because the base is far too small in diameter to hold it outside the rectum, which will suck the whole thing in and you’ll be off to the hospital. Because the Tango sits outside the body, the most vibration is felt right at the anus and between the cheeks. This can be uncomfortable or annoying to some. If you haven’t used an enema, prepare for your Tango to get dirty. Carrie found that, as a butt plug, it didn’t reach her prostate at all. The neck of the plug is flimsy, not only making it hard for vibrations to travel, but also making insertion difficult.

It’s a good beginner plug, and might be nice for foreplay or warming up for larger anal toys. The vibrations are rumbly and penetrating, relaxing the sphincter muscles. Carrie required no warm-up, but an anal newbie may want a finger or two beforehand. Do NOT use the We-Vibe Tango as a warm-up for the Dusk. If that slips out of your hand, you could be headed to the ER.

Fellow sex blogger Epiphora famously used the Dusk as a vaginal plug for hands-free Tango use. This doesn’t work for my body. I found reaching the control button far too difficult, and it vibrated my urethra more than my clitoris, which was uncomfortable. It also didn’t offer the pressure I need on the right side of the shaft of my clitoris. Your mileage may vary, of course, since every body is different.

The Dusk retails for $50 on its own. I’m not so sure it’s worth it, with toys like the Tantus Juice out there.

I’m really glad I got this set at a discount. I love the white We-Vibe Tango and wish it were available on its own. If I had to do it over again, though, I’d have just settled on a blue Tango and skipped the collection altogether. The two attachments aren’t effective for me at all. That said, I love the Tango and highly recommend it if you have a clitoris.
