The Satisfyer Pro Penguin is one of the latest toys with what I call “suckling” capability. It’s not a vibrator per se, since it works through light suction and puffs of air. There’s a “mouth” with a membrane inside that moves back and forth to apply a suckling stimulation directly to the clitoris. I was sent the Satisfyer Pro Penguin by Peepshow Toys, and here is my honest review.
The Satisfyer Pro Penguin is available only in pink, and measures 4.75″ long by 1.75″ wide. The opening on the “mouth” is about .5″ by .75″ and is more of a rectangle than an oval, and appears to be larger than some of the openings on other similar products on the market. There are two buttons: a dedicated power button and one for speeds. It charges via USB to two magnetic leads on the base. It’s completely waterproof and made from body-safe silicone and hard plastic. It’s quiet in use but moderately noisy on high speeds when the mouth isn’t completely covered. It’s designed to stimulate the clitoris only, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work on smaller nipples.
I’ve never used a suckling toy before. This was an interesting introduction.
What toys like these get right is pinpoint stimulation in a way that almost mimics oral sex. Let’s face it, we can talk about licking holes all day, but at the end of the day, most clits get sucked on. If you have a particularly sensitive clit and are easily overstimulated, this toy may not be for you. My clitoris is pretty easy to locate, and I have very fleshy labia majora, so keep in mind your own personal anatomy for this review, because it matters with these types of toys. A narrow vulva may not like the size of the mouth of this toy.
What I like about the Satisfyer Pro Penguin is its compact size and large mouth cavity. This allows me to lube up and, without having to look, apply it to my clitoris where it feels best, gliding it to the right spot without losing suction. I can even close my labia and legs around it. The silicone insert is somewhat cornered, so again, if you’re particularly sensitive you may not like that. As a texture slut, I enjoyed the feeling of having my clitoris trapped in a sucking, puffing box of pleasure. It’s not exactly like oral sex, but it’s good.
To use this toy, you apply lube around your clitoris and the mouth of the toy, gently spread your labia, and apply the mouth around your clitoris. To turn it on, press the power button once. The manual says to hold it down for 2 seconds, and press it once to turn it off. The opposite is true for the toy, and this was the critical downfall for me. You have to hold the power button down for 2 seconds to turn it off. To increase the speed, simply press the large button on the body of the toy. There are 11 speeds, and it climbs up those speeds. Once it’s reached its peak, pressing the speed button will go down the scale of speeds back to its most gentle. These two things have kept me from loving this toy. I get particularly sensitive on orgasm, and would prefer to be able to immediately decrease the intensity or stop the stimulation. For the Satisfyer Pro Penguin, I find I have to either suffer the 2 seconds to turn it off or remove it from my clit completely. This leaves my orgasms feeling stunted, since there’s no pressure or residual stimulation for the end of my climax.
Don’t get me wrong. Orgasms are indeed good with the Satisfyer Pro Penguin. They just feel interrupted.
As I said, there are 11 speeds. The bottom few feel blissfully thuddy. The mid-range speeds feel more like vibration, and the fastest speeds feel as buzzy as bees trapped in a soda can. My happy place starts on setting 2, and I gradually ramp up to 4 or 5 for best results. It almost feels like the faster speeds are excessive and wasteful.
It’s completely waterproof, which I found to be a major plus when cleaning. Soap it up and rinse. You can even run tap water directly into the mouth cavity. The silicone gasket is removable, almost too much so. I could see the gasket getting lost, and I can’t imagine the Satisfyer Pro Penguin to work well without it. It only comes with one, but it’s sanitizable if you plan to share with someone else.
The Satisfyer Pro Penguin provides excellent suckling, thuddy stimulation without a hefty price tag. However, there are some concerns with the Satisfyer brand itself for copying the designs of the Womanizer toys from Epi24. It uses the same type of mechanism. I haven’t had the inclination to use a Womanizer, since they look a little too pinpoint for my taste and the name is so off-putting, but it’s something you should know if you’re concerned about ethics and knock-offs in the toy industry. They’ve also copied We-Vibe’s signature product design.
The Satisfyer Pro Penguin does what it says it will do, minus what it says the power button will do. It produces strong, almost satisfying orgasms. If your clit is really sensitive, you probably won’t like this, since you can’t turn it down or immediately off. If that’s not a problem for you, and you can look past the copying of Epi24’s Womanizer mechanism, this will be a great buy for you. Despite its shortcomings, I do like this toy for when I’m in the mood for a clit orgasm with my underwear off.
UPDATE: Since I wrote this post, several sex bloggers have both reported their Satisfyer toys are not waterproof. Read this post.
