Review: Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator

Lovehoney Desire G-Spot VibratorLovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator is the short name I’m giving for the Lovehoney Desire Luxury USB Rechargeable G-Spot Vibrator. Don’t let the highly specific, long-winded product name fool you. It’s is a serious competitor to high end luxury vibes. I wouldn’t go so far as to say this is exactly on par with them, but it’s a worthy step-up from mid-range toys that might not have the same power or as many features. It’s a great option if spending $100 on a vibrator is a little too much for you.

Details

Desire is Lovehoney’s in-house luxury line. Some of their in-house lines are very obviously white labeled versions of dubious lines like Pipedream’s Basix, but Desire is a design unique to Lovehoney as far as I can tell. The Desire line is made of silky purple silicone, and each vibe in the line comes with a stunning semi-hard cover case.

Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator CaseCan we talk about this case for a minute? I’m honestly impressed with this, and would love to see more toys come with storage (looking at you, Fun Factory).  The case zips shut with a pair of zippers that have overlapping rings that can accommodate a lock. There are several pockets inside, with room for multiple toys. There’s even an ingenious hole to fit the charging cord through. We traveled with ours, and it’s durable.

The Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator itself is quite attractive, with a bulbous G-Spot head and a girthy shaft that starts at just under 1.6″ in diameter and widens to about 1.7″ in diameter. There’s supposedly 5.5″ of insertable length, but fully aroused it’s easy to insert it all the way to the handle. This is definitely not an anal safe toy.

There are actually two motors in the Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator, despite being one long shaft. One sits right at the bulb, and the other is farther down the shaft. I assume the idea is that one stimulates the G-Spot while the other stimulates the entrance to the vagina. That makes sense in theory, but know that your mileage may vary. The shaft motor is a much more powerful and rumbly vibe, though. The whole toy is quite rumbly with both motors going. The vibrations do travel throughout the shaft.

The Pros

The Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator is waterproof and USB rechargeable, as any luxury toy should be. The silicone its made from has a silky finish, which extends down to the handle. It just feels good to the touch and doesn’t collect much dust or lint.

There are several functions independent of its speeds. It’s straightforward to operate, with “+” and “-” buttons, and a middle function button. The buttons have a satisfying click when pressed. The functions leverage the two motors. Normally I prefer steady vibration, but I actually liked most of the patterns. In fact, this is the first toy that’s brought me to orgasm via patterns. That’s because the Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator has got some rumble to it. Both motors are noticeably rumbly. The vibrations travel well through the tissue.

Orgasms with the Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator were intense, especially if I coupled it with the We-Vibe Tango on my clit. It does work well as a clit vibe on its own, too, although I would have liked more intensity and rumble in the bulb motor for this. Again, your mileage may vary.

The Cons

The first major gripe I have about the Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator is its volume. If you’re looking for a quiet toy, pass this one up. The shaft motor is quite louder than you’d expect from a luxury toy. It’s no Magic Wand, but it’s noticeable. This doesn’t really matter to us, being home-owning adults, but if you live with your parents, you may want to opt for something quieter.

Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator HandleThe other major gripe I have is that when you turn it on, it doesn’t start on the lowest setting. Best I can tell, it starts on level 6 of 10, which is far too powerful for my vagina to begin with. She needs to start lower and slower, and build up to higher intensities. Rather than inserting it and turning it on, I have to turn it on, turn it down, and then insert it. I’m not sure that many people appreciate a vibe starting in the mid-ranges.

A minor nitpick, I take issue with the placement of the buttons. The “-” button, that turns it down and off, is at the very corner of the front panel, right where I put my thumb to get more leverage. When it’s on low speed, I keep accidentally turning it off. Then I have to take it out, turn it on, turn it down, and put it back in. I can’t hold it the way I hold a Mona 2.

Overall

Given that this toy is under $75, I call the Lovehoney Desire G-Spot Vibrator a great buy. It’s gorgeous, powerful, rumbly, and boasts lots of features. It comes with a fantastic travel case, too. Probably the best thing about it is that Lovehoney has an unbeatable 365-day no-hassle guarantee. You can always return it and get something else.

Thanks again to Lovehoney for providing this toy in exchange for my honest review!
